PARKing Day--Project Green Classrooms

Deep Run is participating in PARKing Day to promote the importance of getting kids outside to enjoy our local and national parks.  Feel free to stop by and enjoy our very own park in a parking space in front of our school.

Back to School Nights

We look forward to seeing all our parents/guardians at the Back to School Nights. This is an opportunity to learn about the routines, procedures, and curriculum for your child's grade.  You will go directly to your child's homeroom class.  We will have a number of community services available in the front lobby during the events. Parking is limited.  We encourage you to walk or car-pool.  Parking is not available in the Sherwood apartments.

Grades PreK-2:  September 24th at 6:30

Grades 3-5:  September 24th at 6:30

GT Information Night

On October 8th at 6:00, we will have our GT Information Night for Parents. In order to consolidate information for our families and community, we have changed our GT Back to School Night and rescheduled it to be included in the October 8th event. Please note that September 25th will be the 3-5 Back to School Night where families will receive information from the child’s homeroom teacher only, beginning at 6:30pm. GT Math Class Expectations will be shared with the parents of students in GT math through Canvas and a flyer.  An overview of the entire GT program for K-5 at Deep Run will be shared on October 8th, including information about the 4th and 5th grade GT math courses, curriculum, and sequence.

Worth Repeating

Emergency Contact Information for Your Child

We only have emergency contact information for half of our students. Your Family File needs to be updated every school year. HCPSS uses Family File for parents/guardians to complete emergency information. Parents/guardians must verify and/or update information for each child, and can do so by logging in to HCPSS Connect and selecting the Family File tab and then clicking on Family File.

School Meals

HCPSS participates in the Free and Reduced Meals (FARMs) program.  Students (PreK-12) who meet the federal income guidelines are eligible to receive free or reduced-price meals. Applications are available on-line or in paper forms. A new application needs to be submitted each year.  Please complete the application (Spanish and English) as soon as possible to avoid delays in your student receiving a meal.  Go to http://www.hcpss.org/food-services/farms/
