An Important Message from our School Counselors

Hello Deep Run Families,

We are thinking of all of you and wish that we could be together in school. We hope that you are well!  We want to share a list of resources for parents and children to address children's questions, emotions and trauma surrounding current events in our country. We also invite you to visit our Canvas page to sample some of the lessons that we have provided for you. We have gotten the chance to meet virtually with many of you and it has been wonderful. It's not too late to schedule an appointment! For students in grades K and 4, email Mrs Fairchild and for students in grades 1,2,3 and 5, email Mrs. Wohnsigl to schedule a time to meet.

Warm wishes,

Mrs. Fairchild and Mrs. Wohnsigl

Student/Family Drop Off and Pick Up --June 11th and 12th

We recognize that when our students left Deep Run on March 13th, various personal items were left at school. HCPSS has developed procedures for our staff, families, and students to follow in order to pick up very important/essential items from school. This will also be a time for students not returning to Deep Run or another HCPSS school for the 2020-2021 school year to return items.  Students in prekindergarten through 4th grade returning to Deep Run or another HCPSS school for the 2020-2021 school year will receive their non-essential items when we return to school.

Items that need to be returned to school by students not returning to Deep Run or another HCPSS school may include.  Please note:  5th graders going to a HCPSS middle school will keep items until schools re-open, except for musical string instruments.

  • Chromebooks
  • Library Books
  • Text Books
  • Musical instruments

We would like to receive 5th grade safety belts and badges--these should not be held until schools re-open.

Items to be picked up by 5th graders and students not returning to Deep Run or another HCPSS school may include:

  • 5th grade promotion materials
  • Pre-ordered yearbooks and school photographs
  • Medication
  • Personal instruments
  • ADA or Assistive Technology Devices
  • Other personal items

PTA will distribute all pre-ordered Hershey Park tickets.

Parents will be asked to complete a survey to indicate the items they need to pick up or drop off following the guidelines above.  A survey should be completed for each child.  Please be on the look-out for the survey today or tomorrow and complete it as soon as possible.  Once the surveys are completed, school staff will prepare a schedule with specific procedures.  We will be following strict social distancing procedures during the pick up and drop off at school.

Completing Related Arts Assignments

On behalf of all Deep Run Related Arts teachers please remember to let them know you’ve completed your Related Art’s assignments. At the bottom of each teacher’s canvas page is a task completion button. Each week please remember to click the button and respond to the question that follows.  This indicates you’ve completed your Related Arts assignment for the week and is recorded in our gradebook. It’s never too late to go back and complete an assignment from a previous week. All Related Arts assignments will be available until the end of the school year. Thank you to those students who are already doing this each and every week!

An example of the task completion button is below.
