Deep Run Storytime
Join us for an hour of parent learning. Members of our student services team will share valuable information during the third session of our Title I Learning Series. Managing emotions is a skill that can be learned! In this session, we will give parents strategies to help children match the size of their problem to their reaction and to develop a box of "tools" that children can use to calm down when they are upset.

Get Ready for the Kids Heart Challenge
Parents, it’s that time of year for your child to show heart! This year, Deep Run has teamed up with the American Heart Association’s new program Kids Heart Challenge. During the Month of February our students will be learning about heart health while spreading the word and raising funds to help further develop heart treatments. Your child/children should have brought home an information envelope this week in their Wednesday (January 29th). More information about our event will be coming out next week in a canvas announcement.

Regional Early Childhood Center Learning Together Program Applications
The Deep Run Regional Early Childhood Center (RECC) preschool programs are now accepting applications for classes for the 2020-2021 school year. These classes include children with and without disabilities. The program’s focus is helping all children develop communication, literacy, math, problem solving, motor, and social skills. Parents of children who will be 3 and 4 years of age for the 2020-2021 school year may come to school office for an application package beginning February 3, 2020.
The monthly fee for the preschool program will be between $180.00 and $290.00 depending on the number of hours your child participates in the program.
All applications must be returned by February 28, 2020. A limited number of openings are available for children without disabilities. Children are selected based upon screening information given on the application form and the “Ages and Stages Questionnaire,” as well as observations of the child’s participation in a playgroup. If necessary, a lottery process is conducted.
The Howard County Public School System continues to offer a PreK program for income eligible children who will be four years old by September 1, 2020.
