Dear Deep Run Families,
Happy Summer! We hope you are having an enjoyable summer with friends and family. Ms. Townsend, Mr. Pickens and Mr. La Roche, your new principal, have been working hard to plan for the new school year and get ready to see all our students on the first day of school. More information will be sent out as we get closer to the start of the school year. We can’t wait to see you!
Summer is not over yet! We hope you can come out on Wednesday, August 2nd at 6:30 p.m. for some summertime fun with your Deep Run Principals. Come and meet your new principal, Mr. La Roche on the Deep Run Playground for a popsicle and see some friends. We hope to see you there!

Register Your Child Today
We need your help in spreading the word regarding Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten registration for the 2023-2024 school year! As we prepare for our upcoming school year, it is important to have your child registered to ensure we have the correct number of teachers for our students. Please do not delay! Help us with the process by registering your student as soon as possible!
Kindergarten Registration:
Kindergarten registration for the 2023-2024 school year is open! Families of children who will be five years old by September 1, 2023, should enroll their child in kindergarten or submit a kindergarten waiver. Families can find more information about enrolling children in kindergarten, as well as resources to support kindergarten readiness, the kindergarten waiver, and more on the HCPSS website.
HCPSS Pre-K Program:
The HCPSS Pre-K program is accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year with expanded eligibility criteria. Families of children aged four by September 1, 2023, may apply. The HCPSS Pre-K program is free to families; some locations are full day. Families can submit a completed application to hcpss_pk@hcpss.org or to their local elementary school. For more information about the program and 2023-2024 eligibility, please visit the HCPSS website or contact Early Childhood Programs at 410-313-6836.
Job Opportunity at Deep Run Elementary School:
We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to assist students with special accommodations who require direct adult supervision throughout the school day. The position works under the daily supervision of the school administration and under the direction of a special education teacher and/or a classroom teacher. Some experience working with children is preferred. Below are details regarding the position.
