On Field Day, each grade is assigned a color to wear for the day!

Parent Involvement Survey--English and Espanol

As you may know, Deep Run (DRES) is a Schoolwide Title I School.  Parent Involvement is an important part of  Title I.  DRES and Howard County Public Schools (HCPSS) value your input and partnership in supporting the academic success of your child.  Please take a few minutes to complete this survey regarding school improvement, climate, and family engagement.  This will be used to evaluate our Title I program so that we can better serve you.  Your responses will be kept strictly confidential.  Please complete the online survey by May 24.

Hersheypark Tickets Have Arrived

Hersheypark tickets have arrived! Tickets will not be sent home with students.  Parents who ordered tickets can pick them up on one of the following dates:

  • Tuesday, May 17th from 6:30-7 in the cafeteria before the PTA meeting. We'd love for you to stay for the meeting as we will be hosting elections for next year's officers.

PTA Executive Board Nominations

Thank you to the following individuals who were nominated for vacant PTA Executive Board positions.  Voting will take place at the PTA meeting on May, 17th at 7:00.

Nominee for Vice President:  Lisa Stechschulte Lowe
Lisa Stechschulte Lowe would be honored to serve the Deep Run community as PTA Vice President. She is the mom of 2nd grade and Pre-K DRES students, and a 9-month-old future DRES student. At DRES, she has volunteered for PTA events and helped in her kids’ classrooms. When not playing with her kids, she enjoys singing, crafts, photography, biking, and spending time with friends. Professionally, Lisa uses her background in computer science and mathematics in service to the federal government.

Nominee for Secretary:  Kim Pham
Kim Pham works for NASA as a computer engineer. Her family has lived in Kendall Ridge since 2006. Kim is the mom of three boys, and her youngest is currently in Kindergarten at Deep Run. As a family, the Phams love sports. Soccer is a big thing in her family with her boys playing year round, and her husband coaching. They have a large extended family in this area that often gather and travel together.

Free Community Health Fair May 21

See attached flyer for Free Community Health Fair on Saturday, May 21, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, hosted at Glen Mar Church. Elkridge Library Vists at Deep Run

The Elkridge Library will be visiting Deep Run Elementary on Thursdays starting on April 28th from 3:55-5:00 by the playground.   

Rockin Ranger School Store

The Rockin' Ranger School Store is open for student shopping on the stage in the cafeteria from 9:10-9:25am on alternating Wednesdays for primary/K-2 and intermediate/3-5 (see schedule below). Click here to see the types of items available to purchase with prices.  There is a $5 maximum for purchases.  There will be an opportunity for students on late buses, safety patrols, and others to order items and have them delivered to their classroom.
