Dear Deep Run Families,

We hope you’re having a wonderful summer break and taking time to relax and enjoy this break.  It is hard to believe that it is August already and our students will return in just a few weeks. We have been busy preparing for what is sure to be a fantastic school year. Our staff returned last Thursday and they are eager to see all of our Deep Run Rangers soon!

As you are preparing for school to reopen, please take a moment to complete the required updating of your Family File. This is required for your children to participate in field trips and learn who your child’s teacher is on August 21. This is also important for us to know how your child is getting home on the first day of school and the procedures to assist your child in the event of an emergency closing. Be sure to share this information with friends and neighbors who also have children that attend DRES.  Below are the steps to updating your Family File. • Second Bell: 9:25 am (Students are considered late after his time)

FAMILY FILES NEEDED

PLEASE Update Your Child’s HCPSS Family FIle! 

Deep Run Families, it is now time to UPDATE or CONFIRM your information in Family File! The FAMILY FILE (click for link) is now available for the 2024-25 school year. It is completed through HCPSS Connect. This important task must be completed every year to ensure HCPSS has the most current information for every child. 

Please note that your children’s class assignments will be announced via HCPSS Connect on Wednesday, 8/21, at 8am. Another great reason to make sure your account is set up! Here are some helpful Family File Resources…

Updating your information, including EMAIL addresses and phone contact information, and pushing the SUBMIT button on the final page after your signature will ensure that you receive important news from Deep Run Elementary School and teachers know how to contact you. You have completed all required parts of the Family File if there are GREEN CHECK MARKS next to each item on the left-hand column of your screen.

2024-25 Transportation Family Survey

INFO AND APPLICATION FOR FREE AND REDUCED MEALS (FARMs)

The HCPSS participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. Students from households that meet federal income guidelines are eligible to receive free or reduced-price meals. Qualification is based on family size and income, and enrollment is confidential. All children in households receiving benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can get free meals regardless of income, and students from households that meet federal income guidelines are eligible to receive free or reduced-price meals. Those eligible for Free and Reduced Meals receive both breakfast and lunch for free.

Parents/guardians must submit a new application every school year to maintain their student’s eligibility. Please go HERE to apply.
