Deep Run School Improvement Plan ~ 2026-2027 School Year

What is a School Improvement Plan?

A School Improvement Plan (SIP) is an evidence-based roadmap that provides a shared vision for continuous growth and improvement. Through an ongoing process of reviewing student data, identifying needs, and implementing targeted strategies, the SIP guides our collective efforts to improve outcomes for every student.

At Deep Run Elementary School (DRES), our School Improvement Plan focuses on accelerating student achievement, closing opportunity and achievement gaps, strengthening high-quality instruction, and creating equitable learning experiences for all students. Our goals and strategies are aligned with the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) systemic focus areas and reflect the unique strengths and needs of our DRES community.

We believe meaningful and sustainable school improvement is a shared responsibility. We value the voices and perspectives of our students, staff, families, and community partners. Our School Improvement Team brings together school-based leaders, staff, families, and community members to review progress, identify opportunities for growth, and help guide our improvement efforts.

Together, we are committed to ensuring that every DRES student has access to the high-quality instruction, support, and opportunities needed to grow, thrive, and become college and career ready.
