School Store Opens Next Week
Students: do you need some new pencils, erasers, or notebooks? Well you are in luck because The Rockin' Ranger Shop will be reopening next week for a little shopping before winter break! The price of items ranges from 10 cents to $2.50. Please be sure to bring your money in a safe container (baggie, envelope, or wallet/purse). Check to see which day your grade will have the chance to shop the store next week... A few weeks ago a packet was sent home in all first through fifth graders’ Wednesday Folders. Please encourage your child to submit an original poem and/or short story. Attached is the explanation on what is required at each level and how to submit your child’s work. All entries are due by January 20th, 2022. Upcoming COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics for Students Ages 5-11
Through a partnership with the Howard County Health Department and several local pharmacies, HCPSS is pleased to provide students ages 5-11 the opportunity to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. Visit the HCPSS website to view upcoming clinic information and make an appointment.

Impact Aid Forms Due December 31
Parents/guardians who work on a federal property in Maryland and/or are a member of a uniformed service qualify HCPSS to receive additional federal funding. The Federal Impact Aid programs provide financial assistance to school districts that enroll federally connected children. At HCPSS, Impact Aid supplements the operating budget to enhance the teaching and learning that takes place in Howard County classrooms.

Staff Appreciation Throughout the Year
Parents often ask what they can do to support their child's teachers as well as the other staff at Deep Run. A small snack item is always appreciated! Volunteer/Observer Vaccine Requirement
All volunteers and chaperones who interact with students, and parents/guardians who are conducting classroom observations will be required to use the PinPoint platform to show proof of full vaccination at least five school days in advance. Read more
Covid-19 Self Screenings
All parents/guardians are to perform a COVID-19 health check every day before your student leaves home. Students are not to come to school if they are experiencing any symptom(s) associated with COVID-19 or other communicable disease.
