Dear Deep Run Community,

I am writing to follow up on the announcement I made in the Deep Run Digest on February 24, 2023. I am retiring at the end of this school year, effective July 1, 2023.  It has been a great honor to serve as principal of Deep Run Elementary School for the past seven years.  

My career of 40 years has been very rewarding.  I worked with students across all grade levels and I worked in three different school systems.  I am very proud that the last 27 years were in Howard County. Ending my career at Deep Run is very special.   Being with your beautiful children every day is a special gift and I have loved watching them learn and grow!

I am very grateful to work with educators who love your children and want to be with them every day.  The teachers and staff at Deep Run are experts in their areas and work hard to help your children achieve academically, artistically, socially, and emotionally. They work hard to make sure every child feels safe and welcome at Deep Run.  It has been a pleasure working in this environment the last seven years. 

I appreciated all the parent and community support over the years.  Our PTA has been a strong partner in supporting Deep Run and meeting the needs of students, staff, and families.  Parents have always been a phone call or email away when I needed them.  We also have an extensive list of community partners who have provided many, many resources to our students.  All this support has been a huge help to me as principal at Deep Run.

I wish our students happiness and continued success in their schooling and future career paths. I will always remember my time at Deep Run and Howard County Public School System with great fondness.

Estimada comunidad de Deep Run,

Le escribo para dar seguimiento al anuncio que hice en Deep Run Digest el 24 de febrero de 2023. Me jubilaré al final de este año escolar, a partir del 1 de julio de 2023. Ha sido un gran honor servir como directora de la Escuela Primaria Deep Run durante los últimos siete años.

Mi carrera de 40 años ha sido muy gratificante. Trabajé con estudiantes de todos los grados y trabajé en tres sistemas escolares diferentes. Estoy muy orgullosa de que los últimos 27 años hayan sido en el condado de Howard. Terminar mi carrera en Deep Run es muy especial. ¡Estar con sus queridos hijos todos los días es un regalo especial y me ha encantado verlos aprender y crecer!

Estoy muy agradecida de trabajar con educadores que aman a sus hijos y quieren estar con ellos todos los días. Los maestros y el personal de Deep Run son expertos en sus áreas y trabajan arduamente para ayudar a sus hijos a lograr logros académicos, artísticos, sociales y emocionales. Trabajan arduamente para asegurarse de que todos los niños se sientan seguros y bienvenidos en Deep Run. Ha sido un placer trabajar en este ambiente laboral estos últimos siete años.

Aprecié todo el apoyo de los padres y la comunidad a lo largo de los años. Nuestro PTA(Asociación de Padres y Maestros) ha sido una asociación sólida dando apoyo a los estudiantes, el personal y las familias de Deep Run. Los padres siempre han estado disponibles por teléfono o correo electrónico cuando lo necesitaba . También tenemos una extensa lista de socios comunitarios que han traído muchos, muchos recursos a nuestros estudiantes. Todo este apoyo ha sido de gran ayuda para mí como directora de Deep Run.

Les deseo a nuestros estudiantes felicidad y éxito continuo en sus estudios y futuras carreras profesionales. Siempre recordaré mi tiempo en Deep Run y el Sistema de Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Howard con gran cariño.
