A Word from You Administrators
Dear Deep Run Families,
The Deep Run Parent Teacher Association (PTA) hosts events throughout the year to support our staff, students and families. You can support the Deep Run PTA by donating an item or volunteering at one of the events listed below or making a donation to the PTA. Please help the PTA fund fun activities throughout the year.
Thank you so much for joining us for our K–2 Literacy Night! It was wonderful to see so many families exploring reading and writing activities together. Your participation and enthusiasm made the evening a fun and engaging experience for everyone. We hope you left with some ideas and strategies to continue supporting your child’s love of reading at home. We truly appreciate your partnership in helping our students grow as readers and writers! Be sure to let us know how the games are going!

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and celebrating Hispanic hospitality, we will be hosting a luncheon for the teachers and staff of Deep Run Elementary School. If you are interested in sharing a typical dish from your country to offer to our school faculty, please let us know.
- Appetizer or Finger Foods (serves 12)/Aperitivo o picoteo (para 12 personas)
- Side dish/Plato de acompañamiento

Deep Run Elementary School's PTA Trunk or Treat Is Coming! October 24 (rain date October 30) from 6:30-7:30 pm.
Come and join the Fun!!!
Your help is needed to make this a success! Please consider:
- Donating candy or small non-candy items (e.g., stickers, erasers) by dropping them off in the monster boxes in the school lobby.
Make it easy and ship items directly to school by shopping our Amazon wish list!
- Decorating your trunk and passing out goodies at the event.
- We are still looking for additional volunteers to make this event a success:
- 🚗👻 Trunk decorator: Decorate your trunk and pass out candy!
- 🏃 Candy runner: Deliver candy to trunks during the event so they don't run out!
- 🛑 Entry monitor: Make sure only children with sensory-friendly passes enter during sensory-friendly hour.

Our Deep Run Clothing Bin accepts a variety of items. Thank you for participating in our Clothing to Cash Recycling Program. Our school gets paid for every bag of clothing, shoes and textiles placed in this bin. The bin is located in our parking lot. Read More

Title I Parents Right to Know
The Federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) contains several provisions which promote a parent/school partnership through communication. One such provision gives parents of students attending Title I schools the right to ask for and receive information about the professional qualifications of their child’s classroom teacher, paraprofessional, and/or long-term substitute teacher. Smile Maryland Dentist
The Smile Maryland Dentist is coming back to Deep Run Elementary School on November 5th and 6th
- Sign up online or complete all sections of the paper application sent home in your student's backpack and return it to the health room by Nov 4th.
- Please do not send/complete an application if your student has already been seen by a dentist in the last 6 months. They will not be seen by the school dentist if this is identified.
