A Word from You Administrators
Dear Deep Run Families,
As I prepare to retire, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the privilege of serving as principal of Deep Run Elementary School. It has been an honor to work alongside such dedicated staff, supportive families, and remarkable students.
Together, we have created a caring and vibrant school community where children are encouraged to learn, grow, and succeed. The memories, relationships, and experiences we have shared will remain with me long after I leave Deep Run.
Thank you for your trust, partnership, and support throughout the years. Deep Run will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am confident that our school will continue to thrive in the years ahead.

Reminders for This Week
- Please remember to stop by Deep Run to pick up any medications for your child from the Health Room
- Stop by Deep Run from Tuesday, June 16th to pick up any lost clothing items from the "Lost and Found". On June 19th all clothing left will be placed in our clothing donation bin.
- Remind your child to bring home any personal items they have at school, including glasses, water bottles, etc.
- Update your family file with any changes to phone number, address, etc over the summer
- Remind your child to thank their teacher for the love they have shown and a year of learning!

HCPSS Pre-Kindergarten Program
The HCPSS Pre-K Program is now accepting applications for the 2026-27 school year! The Pre-K Program is offered at no cost to families who qualify and is made available to eligible children in all attendance areas. Children must be four years old on or before September 1, 2026, to be considered for fall 2026 enrollment and must also meet the eligibility criteria. Please visit the HCPSS Pre-K Program website for information about the program, eligibility criteria, and how to apply. If you have additional questions about the program, please contact the Office of Early Childhood Programs at 410-313-6836.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Registration for new students or students entering public school kindergarten in fall 2026 has begun.
- Kindergarten is mandatory in Maryland. State law requires that children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2026 must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2026.
- Children entering first grade in the fall of 2026 must be 6 years old on or before September 1, 2026.

Deep Run Clothing and Shoes Collection
Our Deep Run Clothing Bin accepts a variety of items. Thank you for participating in our Clothing to Cash Recycling Program. Our school gets paid for every bag of clothing, shoes and textiles placed in this bin. The bin is located in our parking lot. Read More
