PreK Expanded Eligibility for 23-24
The HCPSS Pre-K program is accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year with expanded eligibility criteria! Families of children aged four or five by September 1, 2023, may apply. The HCPSS Pre-K program is free to families; some locations are full-day. Families can submit a completed application to hcpss_pk@hcpss.org or their local elementary school. For an application, information about the program, and eligibility guidelines, please visit the HCPSS website or contact Early Childhood Programs at 410-313-6836.

Keri Esposito is married with four children, and she works as a reading specialist for the Howard County Public School System. All of her children attended Deep Run Elementary School. She has two rising sixth graders, a rising eighth grader and a soon to-be-third grader who will be continuing her journey at DRES! Keri is active within the school and has helped co-chair the DRES World Culture Night for the past few years. In her daily work, Keri enjoys supporting children and their families. She previously served as a PTA President in Baltimore County before coming to Howard County. She is passionate about school unity, diversity and service to the community. Keri is looking forward to serving in the role of PTA President at Deep Run Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year

Jump into Kindergarten
On June 7th from 6:30-7:30, children entering kindergarten and their families will see a kindergarten classroom at Deep Run. Parents will learn some tips and tricks for a smooth transition to kindergarten. The rising kidnergarteners will experience some fun K activities.

There will be a "gently used" free clothing/shoe distribution event at Ducketts Lane on Saturday, June 3 beginning at 10:00 am.

Pre-K: Families of children who will be four years old by September 1, 2023 may apply for Pre-K. For an application and more information about the program and 2023-2024 eligibility, please visit the HCPSS website. Parents/guardians should submit a completed application to hcpss_pk@hcpss.org or to their local elementary school. Pre-K Program Location fliers and posters have been distributed to all elementary schools; electronic versions of Pre-K applications and advertising fliers can be accessed on Canvas.
